OTHER NEWS

BECOME A KALE AMBASSADOR
  • All eyes on kale! Do you love turning everyday moments into something unforgettable? The Dartmouth Sustainability Office and Dartmouth Dining—backed by a Kendall Food Vision Prize grant that supports every link of our local-kale supply chain—are looking for a curious, self-started team of students to design and run a term-long, multi-platform campaign that keeps the campus buzzing about the brand-new, locally-grown kale on our menus. Working side-by-side with sustainability and dining staff, you’ll dig into the stories of the farmers, growers, and distributors who bring the kale to our tables and then create surprising, engaging, and impactful ways to share those stories with your peers. Think beyond clicks and feeds to what really gets students to stop and take a moment to learn and care about the food they eat and the people who make it possible: pop-up experiences, tactile displays, unexpected “talking points” in high-traffic spots, low-tech installations, or any other creative touch points that get students to see, smell, touch, and taste the kale.

  • While you experiment and iterate, you’ll build professional skills in project management, cross-department collaboration, persuasive storytelling, visual design and fabrication, event planning, and sustainable-food communication. The position is paid, runs through the fall term, and comes with plenty of kale-powered perks to keep you fueled and inspired. Bring your imagination—we’ll provide the funds, the supply-chain stories, and the freedom to make them shine.

  • Successful candidates will be creative, enthusiastic, eager to engage face-to-face and digitally with peers, campus and community partners, and Dartmouth administrators. They will be organized and independently motivated, able to get things done well and on time.
