Artist Talk: Janet Echelman (Noli Timere)
3:30 PM to 4:30 PM | Moore Theater, HOP
Come hear sculptor Janet Echelman talk about her practice of melding art,engineering, and climate data. Janet Echelman sculpts at the scale of buildings and city blocks, creating large-scale, fluid installations that merge art, architecture and engineering to anchor public spaces across five continents.
Creative Climate Communication
6 PM to 7 PM | Moore Theater, HOP
Join the Climate Collaborative, the Hop, the Montgomery Fellows Program, and Dartmouth Dialogues for an informal discussion with two luminaries in climate communication. Montgomery Fellow and climatologist Lesley-Ann Dupigny-Giroux joins visiting artist Janet Echelman for an up-close look at Echelman's large-scale fiber sculpture that is part of the Noli Timere dance performance at the Hopkins Center. Echelman creates net-like sculptures as translations of climate data. Get up close to the net during this Q&A about climate, the arts, and alternative strategies for scientific communication.

Research Talk: The Neighbors with Chris Sollars, talk featuring Justin Mankin & Joseph Savage
12:15 PM to 1 PM | 0102 Gallery, VAC
Come join for programming with the Geography and Studio Arts Departments featuring a research talk covering climate warming ecosystem vulnerability as well as climate change’s impacts on ticks and the spread of Lyme disease. Geography professor Justin Mankin, who studies climate variability and the risks warming poses to ecosystems and people, and PhD candidate Joseph Savage, who forecasts how climate change is driving blacklegged tick populations and Lyme disease in the Northeast, discuss their research. The talk accompanies The Neighbors, Studio Art professor Chris Sollars' video installation about the wildlife around his rural Vermont home, on view through November 8. Open to the public.

2026 Upper Valley Town Build
Oct. 6 - Oct. 8 | Church of Christ at Dartmouth College
This is a great opportunity to participate in a tangible on the ground climate solution! Help to improve energy insecurity in our community and decrease fuel usage at the same time. Come join us in building insulating window inserts for our community. Each simple job is taught, and all tools and materials are provided. No experience is necessary.

The Appalachia Energy Immersion Trip is an experiential learning program bringing students to West Virginia and Washington, D.C., to understand the complex legacies of energy resource extraction and explore pathways toward a just transition. Our Appalachia Energy Immersion Trip is running Spring Break, 2027.
