Wednesday, September 30th

  • Sustainability Office Hours

    • 12 to 1:30 PM | ROBO 

    • Join us at Susty Office hours for some apple cider donuts & cider this week. Bring your own cup & questions! Swing by to talk about SAP applications, the Appalachia Energy Immersion trip, happenings this fall in Susty, or anything else on your mind! 


  • Montgomery Fellow, Ryan Emanuel Public Talk: Indigenous Environmental Justice in a Time of Radical Global Change 

    • 4:30 to 6 PM | Filene Auditorium, Moore 

    • Ryan E. Emanuel, a hydrologist and associate professor at Duke's Nicholas School of the Environment, discusses what it means for Indigenous peoples to stay connected to their homelands amid climate change, pollution, and unsustainable development. Open to the public, this talk is part of the Montgomery Fellows Program's Climate Solutions: Wishful Thinking or Hopeful Planning? Series.R

  • Pop-Up Bike Shop (PUBS)

    • Looking for a quick bike fix? Bring your bike by PUBS for a quick repair such as a rusty chain, flat tire, or squeaky brakes. 


  • Dartmouth as Living Lab Summit

    • 4:30 to 5:30 PM | Steele 006

    • Join the Climate Collaborative for the second annual Living Lab Summit to learn more about the innovative projects being supported through the Living Lab Grants program. The Living Lab Grants program supports projects that use Dartmouth’s campus, operations, and community as a platform for applied climate and sustainability scholarship, teaching, and learning. At the Summit, we will hear short presentations from current grant recipients about their projects.

  • Fall Bike Sale 

    • 3 to 4 PM | Fahey Patio & Bike Shop

    • Come by the Bike Shop bike sale on Sunday if you are looking to purchase a bike! Please note this will be first come first serve and we anticipate being able to offer ~15 bikes at this sale.

  • Farm Club Workdays!

    • Join our farm club leaders to harvest, plant, and do projects at the O Farm! Trips running Tuesday-Thursday this week with details on Trailhead.

  • APPLY to our Sustainability Action Program! (SAP)

    • Forgot to apply? There is still time, apps now due by Wednesday, September 30th

    • The Sustainability Action Program (SAP) is focused on first years and is dedicated to enabling YOU to become an effective change agent. In SAP, you will have the chance to build community with other students, staff, faculty, and community partners working on sustainability projects on campus and beyond. In a series of workshops, field trips, fun dinners, activities and projects, we will orient you to the sustainability community at Dartmouth, engage you in making REAL change and help you chart the course you want to pursue while you’re here. You’ll leave SAP with a strong sense of community and confidence and skills to make impactful changes here at Dartmouth and in the world!

  • APPLY to join the Appalachia Energy Immersion Trip

    • The Appalachia Energy Immersion Trip is an experiential learning program bringing students to West Virginia and Washington, D.C., to understand the complex legacies of energy resource extraction and explore pathways toward a just transition. Our Appalachia Energy Immersion Trip is running Spring Break, 2027. 


  • Orange Shirt Day on Wednesday, September 30th

    • Please consider wearing an orange shirt this Wednesday for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation in remembrance of the children lost at Native American boarding schools. Join Natives at Dartmouth in the Collis Atrium for their annual tabling as they raise awareness for Orange Shirt Day. Also check out the events on campus for Indigenous Peoples’ Month.


  • Building Community in Nature on Friday, October 2nd

    • 3:30 PM | ROBO lawn

    • Join the Native American Program’s Carley Malloy and Outdoor Programs’ Willow Nilsen for a guided walk and discussion through Pine Park. Learn more about the non-human communities around us, and how plants and trees have provided food sources and remedies throughout their existence.  discuss how globalization has impacted communities throughout the Northeast, and within the Upper Valley.


  • Mushroom Foraging Event on Sunday, October 4th 

    • 11AM to 2 PM | Reed Hall

    • Join experienced mushroom foragers from the EEER department for a beautiful early-October walk in the woods! We will learn woodsy Russian vocab and possibly take home some treats.


  • Underland Screening with Robert Macfarlane on Sunday, October 4th

    • 4 to 5:15 PM | Loew Auditorium

    • Join the HOP, ANTH & EES for a screening of Underland this weekend. Based on Robert Macfarlane's bestseller, this hypnotic documentary follows three "astronauts of the underworld" on their journey below the surface of the earth. Discussion follows with writer Robert Macfarlane.
