Waste Diversion Interns | 5-10 hrs/week

  • Interns will work in the Free Market, an on-campus thrift store in North Massachusetts Hall in which clothing is sorted and stored and where, during open hours, students are welcome to come take what they need free of charge. We work in partnership with organizations like the First Generation Office and Sunrise Dartmouth to ensure that low-income students are prioritized for clothing access.

Fall O-Farm interns | 8-10 hrs/week 

  • A team interns will learn and carry out day-to-day operations at the farm, including growing operations, site upkeep and organization, coordinating and run events with students and community members, and perform farm outreach and communications. The farm interns play a key role in assisting with and supporting co-curricular academic programming (classes, farm research, and labs), and communicating with our produce customers and partners. Farm interns help visitors connect with the farm program through tours, and will guide volunteers in work day tasks. The farm interns will be responsible for fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment at the farm.

Climate & Sustainability Communications Interns | 8-10 hrs/week 

  • We’re looking for a creative, curious student to join our team for the 2026–27 academic year. You’ll help share all the sustainability and climate-related things happening at Dartmouth—from Instagram posts and weekly emails to event coverage, posters, website stories, and more.

  • You’ll work with a fun, close-knit team, meet people across Dartmouth, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the climate and sustainability work happening on campus.

First Year Program Manager (Sustainability Action Program!) | 5-10 hrs/week

  • The First Year Program Manager is a key Sustainability Internship available to Junior or Senior students. FYP Managers are responsible for running the Sustainability Action Program (SAP), our core program that acts as an on-ramp to first-year students by engaging them with the Sustainability Office, creating a dynamic, supportive community, and fostering changemaking skills for sustainability problem solving and climate action. FYP Managers will work with a team of co-interns and staff members in the Sustainability Office. We are seeking interns with experience getting sustainability change done at Dartmouth, strong managerial and mentoring skills, the ability to connect first years to a range of groups and activities on campus and remotely, and the ability to relate personally to students with a range of backgrounds, experience levels and interests. Interns will gain experience facilitating educational workshops, coaching peers through problem solving and climate action, and connecting tactical projects to broader strategy.

Kale Ambassadors for Sustainability and Dining | 8-10 hrs/week

  • All eyes on kale! Do you love turning everyday moments into something unforgettable? The Dartmouth Sustainability Office and Dartmouth Dining—backed by a Kendall Food Vision Prize grant that supports every link of our local-kale supply chain—are looking for a curious, self-started team of students to design and run a term-long, multi-platform campaign that keeps the campus buzzing about the brand-new, locally-grown kale on our menus. Working side-by-side with sustainability and dining staff, you’ll dig into the stories of the farmers, growers, and distributors who bring the kale to our tables and then create surprising, engaging, and impactful ways to share those stories with your peers. Think beyond clicks and feeds to what really gets students to stop and take a moment to learn and care about the food they eat and the people who make it possible: pop-up experiences, tactile displays, unexpected “talking points” in high-traffic spots, low-tech installations, or any other creative touchpoints that get students to see, smell, touch, and taste the kale.
