ALL WEEK LONG

REGISTER FOR THE LOCAL SOLUTIONS CONFERENCE
SEPTEMBER 18 & 19, 2025
  • Register TODAY for the 2025 Local Solutions Conference: Bouncing Forward to Create Resilient Communities, to be hosted HERE at Dartmouth! This is an incredible opportunity to learn from and network with climate resilience practitioners, brought straight to campus.

  • This is the sixth biannual convening of the conference focused on promoting a rural Northeast region that is climate resilient, equitable, economically revitalized, and decarbonized!

  • Students can also submit proposals for poster presentations on the conference's four tracks—energy resilience, public health, affordable and resilient housing, and flooding—here by August 1.

MONDAY, JULY 21st

POP-UP BIKES SHOP (PUBS)
3:30 - 4:30PM | Fahey-McLane patio
  • Are your handlebars loose? Tires flat? Chain squeaky and rusty? Come to PUBS!

  • Please be aware there might be high demand and a long queue, and plan accordingly. This event is for QUICK FIXES ONLY.

  • Small fixes are just $10 for 15 minutes of labor (plus the cost of any parts). We only accept DASH Discretionary via the GET Mobile app, so please bring your phone, ID Card, and have your DASH preloaded with some money.

TUESDAY, JULY 22nd

O-FARM WORK DAY
8 - 10AM | Rides from next to Robo
  • Join Purnika and Manu for a whimsical trip to the farm on Tuesday morning! We will be doing a variety of weeding, planting, and harvesting.

  • The weather looks a little chilly, so bring layers as well as a water bottle!

WEDNESDAY, JULY 23rd

SUSTAINABILITY OFFICE HOURS
12 - 1:30PM | Outside Robo (rain location: Robo 106)
  • Join Sustainability staff for delicious homemade sweets and susty conversation!

  • All are welcome, whether you've been involved in the past or are looking to get started with Sustainability now! Share ideas, ask questions, or just take a little snack break with us.

FRIDAY, JULY 25th

O-FARM WORK DAY
10AM - 12PM | Rides from behind Robo
  • Join Reva '27 (she/her) and Flora '27 (she/her) for a fun Friday morning trip to the farm! We will be doing a variety of weeding, planting, and harvesting.

  • It's looking to be quite warm and potentially rainy, so please be sure to bring a raincoat and a water bottle!

FARM OLYMPICS
4 - 7PM | O-Farm
  • Have you ever wanted to see how far you can throw a squash, how fast you can push a wheelbarrow, or how low you can go under a stalk of corn?

  • Sign up for Farm Olympics this Friday! You can register with a team or solo. There will be pizza!

SATURDAY, JULY 26th

FREE MARKET THRIFT STORE OPEN HOURS
11:30AM - 1:30PM | North Mass Basement
  • Did you know, Dartmouth produced over eleven THOUSAND pounds of potential textile waste this spring alone? Luckily, thanks to our amazing partners at Apparel Impact, that clothing can either be recycled or upcycled. And, much of it finds its way to our Free Market Thrift Store—so swing on by this week to see what you'll find!

  • Excited by our thrift store and want to help sustain our efforts? Shocked by the amount of waste on campus and want a tangible way to curb it? Come to the Free Market!

RECEPTION, FILM, AND PANEL DISCUSSION AT THE HOP: THE WHITE HOUSE EFFECT
THURSDAY, JULY 31 | 6 - 9PM | Loew Auditorium
  • The Hopkins Center for the Arts Summer Films Series presents The White House Effect, an award-winning documentary that reveals how a pivotal moment in George H.W. Bush's presidency altered the course of US climate-change policy.

  • Join us for a reception at 6 p.m., and film at 7 p.m., followed by a panel discussion moderated by Derek Walker, Irving Institute Executive Director, with panelists Erin Mayfield, Dartmouth Assistant Professor of Engineering, and Sam Evans-Brown, Clean Energy New Hampshire Executive Director.

    The film is open to the public and unticketed, but please RSVP here.

IRVING INSTITUTE STUDENT GRANT PRIORITY APPLICATIONS DUE
TUESDAY, JULY 29
  • Looking for funding to help with energy- or climate-related research or a project?

  • The Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society offers grants up to $6,000 for enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who are advancing the Institute's mission of transforming humankind’s understanding of energy, climate, and society issues.
