AI and Indigenous Innovations Symposium
Monday, Sept. 21st-Tuesday, Sept. 22nd
The two-day symposium at Dartmouth College, will bring together leading scholars to examine the intersections of artificial intelligence (AI), Indigenous data creation, and environmental futures. Together, these engagements will underscore how Indigenous traditions of innovation can shape future technological pathways, positioning Dartmouth as a vital site for dialogue at the nexus of environment, technology, and Indigenous studies.

5:45 PM to 7:15 PM | O Farm, rides from behind Robo
Heard about the farm but haven't made it out to visit yet? Come to the o-farm for a bonfire at sunset!! We will meet behind robo at 5:45 and take a quick 5 minute drive to the farm. There, we will make a fire, roast some marshmallows, and hangout. We plan to head back to campus at around 7. Make sure to bring layers and a water bottle! Can’t wait to see you there!! 🍁🌅

Ryan Emmanuel Paddling Event
12 PM to 1:30 PM | Meet at Ledyard Canoe Club
Join Montgomery Fellow Ryan Emanuel for a paddling trip on the Connecticut River, offering an opportunity to get outside, connect with fellow Dartmouth students, and explore the river and surrounding landscape with Ryan. Wednesday, September 23 | 12–1:30 p.m. Rain date: Friday, September 25 The group will meet at the Ledyard Canoe Club before heading out on the river. Participants should arrive at least 10 minutes before the noon departure. Interested in joining? Please complete the interest form below. Our office will follow up to confirm your participation and share additional details.

Climate and Comedy Workshop
12 PM to 1 PM | Dartmouth Hall 105
Can we tell climate stories that capture attention, spark curiosity, and connect with people beyond the usual climate audience? This interactive workshop will explore the intersection of climate communications, comedy, and storytelling, giving Dartmouth students an opportunity to experiment with new ways of communicating about climate change. Lunch provided!

Local Farmers Film Screening and Reception
4 PM to 6 PM | Dartmouth Organic Farm
Come join us for a free event at the beautiful Dartmouth Organic Farm with local food, short film portraits, and engaging conversation on the state of the region's agriculture. Upper Valley farmers Mark Robie of Robie Farms, Andal Sundaramurthy of Nalla Farm and master gardener Retta Dunlap are featured in the films and will be in attendance for a post-screening discussion.

The Sustainability Action Program (SAP) is focused on first years and is dedicated to enabling YOU to become an effective change agent. In SAP, you will have the chance to build community with other students, staff, faculty, and community partners working on sustainability projects on campus and beyond. In a series of workshops, field trips, fun dinners, activities and projects, we will orient you to the sustainability community at Dartmouth, engage you in making REAL change and help you chart the course you want to pursue while you’re here. You’ll leave SAP with a strong sense of community and confidence and skills to make impactful changes here at Dartmouth and in the world!

INTERNSHIP: First Year Program Manager (Sustainability Action Program!) | 5-10 hrs/week
The First Year Program Manager is a key Sustainability Internship available to Junior or Senior students. FYP Managers are responsible for running the Sustainability Action Program (SAP), our core program that acts as an on-ramp to first-year students by engaging them with the Sustainability Office, creating a dynamic, supportive community, and fostering changemaking skills for sustainability problem solving and climate action. FYP Managers will work with a team of co-interns and staff members in the Sustainability Office. We are seeking interns with experience getting sustainability change done at Dartmouth, strong managerial and mentoring skills, the ability to connect first years to a range of groups and activities on campus and remotely, and the ability to relate personally to students with a range of backgrounds, experience levels and interests. Interns will gain experience facilitating educational workshops, coaching peers through problem solving and climate action, and connecting tactical projects to broader strategy. APPS ARE DUE WEDNESDAY SEPT. 23rd!
