Here's what's happening this week in Sustainability!

Joke of the day: Why did the tree break up with the forest? It needed some space to branch out!
ALL WEEK LONG
29s!!!
Are you interested in sustainability?
Want to meet other students, staff, and faculty who want to help you learn??
Want to spend time outside, go on field trips, and work on cool projects???
The Sustainability Action Program (SAP) is focused on first years and is dedicated to enabling YOU to become an effective change agent working for climate action and sustainability transitions on campus and in our broader community. In SAP, you will have the chance to learn about the sustainability community at Dartmouth to engage you in making REAL change and help you chart the course you want to pursue while you’re here. You’ll leave SAP with a strong sense of community and confidence and skills to make impactful changes here at Dartmouth and in the world!
In fall term, we will get you grounded in the sustainability context at Dartmouth—while growing a strong community through events, dinners, and field trips, you will learn how sustainability systems work on campus. Through building a solid foundation for understanding how food, energy, waste, water, and transportation operate at Dartmouth, you will begin to generate ideas for opportunities for improvement within these systems!
In winter and spring terms, we will train you to be change makers by equipping you with tools such as design thinking, systems thinking, and behavior change theory. Then YOU (and a team of fellow SAP-lings) will design and implement a project on a topic you care about that makes Dartmouth even greener! (Get it? Big Green?!) SAP-lings have gone on to do amazing things in the world of sustainability and climate, and we can't wait to see what mark your class will leave on this place!
No sustainability experience needed—come learn and grow with us!
Applications are due Sunday, September 28 at midnight. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at sustainable.dartmouth@dartmouth.edu.
