SUSTAINABILITY & FASHION:
This summer, we wanted to take a focused look at how sustainability intersects with the fashion industry. Whether we intend to or not, we all interact with the fashion industry in some capacity, and we are excited to engage with this topic through community discussions, opportunities for learning, celebrating our creativity and uniqueness, and taking action to make positive changes to make the fashion industry more sustainable, just, and equitable.

"When it comes to sustainable fashion, one of the key spokespeople for an inclusive and intersectional movement is Aditi Mayer, the creative behind ADIMAY, a sustainable fashion blog exploring the ties between style, sustainability, and social justice for over 4 years.
Frustrated with the lack of representation and intersectionality within the sustainability movement, ADIMAY became a space that looked at sustainability with an eye that was equally curious, curatorial, and critical.
Aditi has since become a frequent speaker on topics of such as social and environmental justice in fashion, minority representation, responsible storytelling and more.
She has evolved ADIMAY to focus not only on fashion, but conscious travel and living as well. Her work has taken her internationally, having taken on projects throughout the US, Mexico, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
Alongside the ADIMAY platform, Aditi works as a photojournalist, filmmaker, and creative consultant, living up to her mission of pushing a socially conscious & sustainable slant in all her endeavors."

Help the sustainability office collect data on textile waste! This is a great exercise to help you mindfully acknowledge your clothing habits. This activity can be done on your own time, and is a great self-check to be paired with the other #sustainablefashion week programming, going on Week 5. We will compile the data for a general overview of Dartmouth's clothing habits.
