Dartmouth Sugar Crew's Sweet Spring Break

While some students spend their spring break basking on the warm beaches of the Bahamas or frolicking in some other warm place far away from the frozen hills of Hanover, a troupe of hardy students opted to spend their spring break in an unconventional way. Lead by captains Marshall Wilson '17 and Yolanda Huerta '19, these stalwart students spent their spring break trudging through the deep snow of Lyme, NH, tapping maple trees and learning the ins and outs of making maple syrup. The students kept a journal of their experiences during the 2017 sugaring season. Read the excerpts below!
