5:30 - 7PM | Rides leaving from behind Robo
Join Jack '22, Madeline '25, and Emily '25, for a wood-fired pizza dinner at the Dartmouth Organic Farm! We will be leaving from behind Robinson Hall and driving to the O-Farm to harvest some ingredients, build pizzas, and take in the lovely evening overlooking the Connecticut River, no experience required.

CLIMATE WINS
So much of our media is mired in gloom and doom–and don't get us wrong, there's a lot to be wary of when it comes to our fight for a just, livable future in the face of intensifying injustices and climate change. But, there's also SO much good work being done, too, that rarely gets highlighted. We've added this "climate wins" section to our weekly newsletter to counterbalance the bad news and reinvigorate our community in this good and hard work by celebrating wins.
The Biden administration announced $120 million in funding for Indigenous climate preparedness. According to Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, "Helping these communities remain on their homelands in the midst of [climate-related] challenges is one of the most important climate related investments we could make in Indian Country.”
New Zealand is banning plastic produce bags in supermarkets, a move anticipated to eliminate 150 million bags consumed per year. They're also getting rid of plastic cutlery and straws. Since the country outlawed plastic carrier bags in 2019, they've prevented more than one billion bags from being used.
This fall, Maine will vote on whether to create the first state-level consumer-owned power company, which has the potential to take power out of the hands of multinational corporate interests and make the state's energy supply not-for-profit. (See also this Guardian article about power companies spending millions to stop the measure.)
