CLEAN ENERGY NEW HAMPSHIRE CIRCUIT: UPPER VALLEY EDITION

As New Hampshire's leading clean energy advocate and educator, Clean Energy NH (CENH), helps communities implement energy projects that reduce operating costs and improve sustainability. In an effort to connect directly with individuals, community members, and business leaders, we are visiting each region in the Granite State to learn more about the communities we serve.
CENH staff will be available to answer questions about the landscape for renewable energy and energy efficiency in New Hampshire: what's being done, where New Hampshire stands, and how to advance policies, technologies, and the state's infrastructure.

CLIMATE WINS
So much of our media is mired in gloom and doom–and don't get us wrong, there's a lot to be wary of when it comes to our fight for a just, livable future in the face of intensifying injustices and climate change. But, there's also SO much good work being done, too, that rarely gets highlighted. We're adding a "climate wins" section to our weekly newsletter to counterbalance the bad news and reinvigorate our community in this good and hard work by celebrating wins.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson received a blueprint for a "Green New Deal" for the city that centers environmental justice and includes provisions for creating a Department of Environment. One of the co-authors of the report declared of their work, "It is time to co-govern with frontline communities who have disproportionately borne the impact of pollution, climate change, racism and economic disenfranchisement.”
The EPA is proposing much stricter standards on lead paint that would result in the removal of lead particulates from millions of buildings including homes, daycares, schools, and elderly homes.
The EU passed a law to restore 20% of degraded land and sea ecosystems by 2030 and all degraded ecosystems by 2050, a key aspect of the European Green New Deal.
